Originally from Castellammare del Golfo, Vincenzo Ancona (1915-2000) emigrated to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 41. His poetry recounts the immigration experience, often in amusing ways. The volume Malidittu la lingua / Damned Language (1990) contains his poetry and translations by G. Cipolla.
